Non-Infectious Lower Respiratory Tract Disease

The current understanding of equine asthma, including how the previous definitions of Inflammatory Airway Disease and Recurrent Airway Obstruction have progressed to current definitions of mild-moderate and severe equine asthma
Approach to the diagnosis of equine asthma cases in practice, including making a provisional diagnosis using history and clinical signs, when to perform additional diagnostics, and what diagnostic techniques are available
How to develop a treatment plan for equine asthma including environmental and management changes, as well as pharmaceutical options that are available
How to approach diagnosis of exercise-induced pulmonary haemorrhage, including identification of EIPH in horses without epistaxis

Hayley graduated from University of Liverpool in 2011. After 2 years in mixed practice, she undertook an Equine Medicine Fellowship at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in Kentucky, USA. She then completed a residency at the University of Georgia, becoming an ACVIM Diplomate in Large Animal Internal Medicine in 2019. Hayley is now an Equine Internal Medicine Specialist at Newmarket Equine Hospital, with a focus on critical care, neonatalogy, respiratory medicine and gastroenterology.
