Sam McMillan
BSc(Hons) VTS(Anesthesia/Analgesia) DipAVN(Medical) RVN
Sam spent 12 years working in several university and referral hospitals, where she gained the DipAVN in 2006 and VTS (Anesthesia/Analgesia) in 2007. Sam worked for many years as a dedicated anaesthesia nurse and then as head theatre nurse at The University of Cambridge.
In 2014 Sam joined Anglia Ruskin University as lecturer in Advanced Veterinary Nursing and Course Leader for the BSc(Hons) in Veterinary Nursing before beginning her PhD research full time in 2016. Sam’s main interests include anaesthesia and surgical nursing with particular interests in patient safety in anaesthesia, surgery and recovery, infection control and acute and chronic pain.
